16 Choke Start were formed in March 2017 when Tim Daley and Davey Jones met with an idea of
forming a new band and were joined by Leonardo di Piccolo. These 3 experienced, disparate
musicians hailing from Knighton and Shrewsbury set out with the concept of creating hard rock
fused with funk and screaming guitar. Socially aware lyrics painting dystopian landscapes combined
with the intense funked up driving rhythms over melodic vocals. And then that guitar.
The self-proclaimed ‘Masters of Frunk’ have arrived with a new same named EP available on all
digital platforms. 4 songs appear: Capitalist Disharmony, Conspiracy, Illuminati and System.
Sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, Rowan Bartram’s song writing is rooted firmly in folk but transcends the limits of tradition. Having travelled extensively from her home on the Powys/Shropshire border, multi-instrumentalist Rowan, writes about personal experiences as well as her love for the local area. Her captivating performances are not to be missed.
Geoff lives in Shropshire. He has made quite a name for himself as a singer, performer and songwriter on the folk club, local pub and festival circuit. Formerly part of the very popular duo, “Bit on the Side”, who made one CD, “Running through the heart” featuring 6 of Geoff’s own songs, he is now mostly performing solo.
